Yeah, Python is pretty weak, but it’s pretty good for a small offline game, because 30fps is still playable for a non action game.

  5. DJDAMO93 says:

  6. XWatchLearnX says:

@party4lifedude its simple. he lied to you

  7. y0urfaceishide0us2 says:

You can easily learn Python within a few months. Pretty powerful language, but it is very simple.

  8. party4lifedude says:

he made a fucking game and learned how to do so in 2 weeks

  9. Xstatic112 says:

You can use any programming language to make games, however, you’ll need to also learn libraries like SDL or OpenGL to display graphics and sound. First, learn C++ or C, then move to SDL or OpenGL, but, i’m pretty sure these tutorials will show you more on that as you move along.

Just a word of advice, if you wanna make games stay clear from Python and Pygame, cause they are seriously slow.

  10. Xstatic112 says:

While Python is easy to learn and is powerful, it is incredibly slow, I’ve been learning the language for a few months and i still can’t get any games to run anywhere over 30 FPS, also the memory usage for something as simple as a Mario Bros. Clone can be astronomical.
So, i know some ppl are not into programming for game dev, but for those who are… beware of python, it is a lie, you get all that elegance and power, and you get THIS kinda speed!? Python has to be some kinda sick joke!
